Profile
Dr Maryam Bassirat is a Research Assistant undertaking studies in the area of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. She has a background in biochemistry and neurophysiology and extensive experience in both non-clinical and clinical studies. In her current project, she investigates the effect of advanced glycated end products (AGEs) on vascular health in patients with type 2 diabetes. Maryam is experienced in multiple techniques including tissue processing and immuohistochemistry and skilled in data analysis, writing grants, conference presentations and teaching
