Ms Connie Karschimkus is involved in taking, processing, tracking and the storage of blood for various studies within the department of Medicine. Her role involves the measurement of various routine tests including non invasive measurements of blood vessel elasticity, skin fluorescence, and ocular fluorescence. Other routine testing involves novel testing using various instrumentation such as HPLC, nephelometry, ultracentrifugation and GC-MS. Her areas of expertise include red blood cell membrane preparation, lipoprotein isolation using ultracentrifugation, carotenoid analysis, ELISA assays, and HDL detoxification.
